Impressions
If you’re traveling on business to Ostuni, Italy, it’s crucial to choose accommodations that offer both comfort and convenience. Let’s face it: after a long day of meetings or networking, the last thing you want to deal with is the hassle of poorly communicated addresses or accessibility issues. During my stay, the owner did not provide the full address upfront, forcing me to reach out for additional information. While the hotel is located fairly close to attractions—allowing you to potentially squeeze in some sightseeing like the charming nearby cave—it is essential to factor in such inconveniences, as they can eat into your valuable time.
Furthermore, consider the amenities that will impact your productivity during your stay. An essential aspect for business travelers is reliable Internet connectivity, yet I found myself contacting the owner again for WIFI information, which is far from ideal. Also, the stay itself was quite chilly in February; the inability to adjust the temperature or acquire extra blankets detracted significantly from my comfort. In this regard, a longer stay—ideally a week—may provide you with the time to get acclimated and address any potential issues with the management rather than rushing through a shorter visit.
That being said, if your business engagements are accompanied by opportunities for leisure, then Ostuni and this hotel can still serve as a pleasant base. The basics are covered, and if you can overlook issues such as a small bathroom with boat-like dimensions and the outdated gas stove, you may find some charm in the hotel’s overall atmosphere. A week-long stay would allow you to enjoy the nearby attractions at a more leisurely pace while also tackling work obligations, transforming your trip from a mere business obligation into a true experience in one of Italy’s lovely towns. In conclusion, while there are areas for improvement, you could make the most of your stay with the right expectations and a bit of patience.
